Prime Quality Hot-dipped Galvanized Steel Coils Used For Roof Panels
Description
Main Features and Advantages:
Excellent Corrosion Resistance:
Physical Barrier: The zinc layer tightly covers the steel surface, isolating it from corrosive media such as water and air.
Electrochemical Protection (Sacrificial Anode): When the coating is partially damaged, exposing the steel substrate, zinc acts as the anode and is preferentially corroded, thus protecting the steel base material. This is its core protective principle.
Good Processing Performance: Galvanized coils produced using modern processes (such as the US Steel process) have excellent coating adhesion and can be bent, stamped, stretched, and formed without easily peeling off.
Aesthetics and Decorative Properties: The surface features unique zinc flowers (large zinc flowers, small zinc flowers, and zinc flower-free smooth surfaces), resulting in uniform color after finishing. It can be used directly in applications where appearance requirements are not high, or as a substrate for color-coated sheets.
High Cost-Effectiveness: More economical than painting or using stainless steel for the same protection life.
Key Production Processes (Taking a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line as an example):
Uncoiling and Welding: Welding the tail of the previous coil to the head of the next coil ensures continuous operation of the production line.
Cleaning and Pre-treatment: Thoroughly removing oil and iron oxide scale from the steel sheet surface to ensure good wetting by the zinc molten metal.
Annealing: Heating in a reducing atmosphere (usually a hydrogen/nitrogen mixture) causes the steel coil to recrystallize and soften, restoring its mechanical properties (such as deep-drawing ability) and forming a clean, active surface.
Hot-Dip Galvanizing: Rapidly immersing the annealed steel strip into the molten zinc bath. The coating thickness is controlled by an air knife (to blow away excess zinc).
Alloying Treatment (Optional): If producing "Alloyed Zinc Coil" (GA coil), the strip needs to be reheated to completely convert the pure zinc layer on the surface into a zinc-iron alloy layer, which is dark gray and particularly beneficial for subsequent phosphating and coating.
Cooling and Passivation: After plating, cooling is performed, followed by chemical passivation (chromate or chromium-free passivation) or oiling to prevent white rust (zinc oxide) from forming during storage and transportation.
Finishing and Stretching (Optional): Improves strip shape, enhances surface finish, and achieves a zinc-free surface, while also obtaining the desired mechanical properties (such as adjusting the yield plateau).
Rolling and Packaging: Finished product winding, weighing, and packaging.

Product packaging can be customized according to customers and according to factory standards
ADVANTAGES:
Low processing cost:
The cost of hot-dip galvanizing and rust prevention is lower than that of other paint coatings;
Multi-faceted protection:
Each part of the plated parts can be plated with zinc, even in recesses, sharp corners and hidden places
an be protected in many ways;
The inspection is simple and convenient:
The hot-dip galvanized layer can be tested visually and with a simple non-destructive coating thickness table.
