Product Description
Galvanized steel pipe is a steel pipe whose surface has been galvanized. This treatment significantly improves the pipe's corrosion and rust resistance, extending its service life.
Main Appearance and Characteristics
- Appearance: Surface is typically silvery-white with metallic luster and snowflake-like or fish-scale-like crystalline patterns. After use, it may turn dark gray due to oxidation.
- Coating: Available in hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing (cold galvanizing). Hot-dip galvanized pipe is most common, with thick zinc layer, strong adhesion, and excellent corrosion resistance.
- Weight: Slightly heavier than black pipe of same specifications due to added weight of zinc layer.
- Corrosion Resistance: Zinc layer effectively isolates steel substrate from air and water corrosion. Even with minor damage, zinc protects iron through cathodic protection.
