Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium alloy with a nickel matrix and solid solution strengthened by molybdenum and niobium. Its core characteristics are:

Solid solution strengthening, independent of aging treatment: Its high strength mainly comes from the solid solution strengthening effect of molybdenum and niobium in the nickel matrix, thus avoiding the aging hardening reaction and the complex problems that heat treatment may bring.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance:

Resistant to Pitting and Crevice Corrosion: Benefits from a high molybdenum content (~9%), exhibiting excellent performance in chloride-containing seawater and salt spray environments.

Resistant to Uniform Corrosion: Demonstrates strong resistance to a variety of inorganic acids, organic acids, alkalis, and salt solutions, including nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid-hydrochloric acid mixtures.

Resistant to Stress Corrosion Cracking: Exhibits high resistance to chloride and caustic alkali environments.

High Temperature Performance:

Oxidation and Carburization Resistance: Capable of continuous operation in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres up to 1100°C.

Good High-Temperature Strength: While its absolute high-temperature strength is lower than 718, it maintains high strength and creep resistance below 980°C.

Physical and Mechanical Properties:

Moderate Strength, Excellent Toughness: Room temperature yield strength is approximately 415 MPa, and elongation can reach over 30%, exhibiting good impact resistance and fatigue resistance.
