Chemical Composition and Design Logic:
Basic Framework: Similar to 309S, it boasts high chromium (~23%) and high nickel (~13%), providing excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance.
Key Strengthening Element - Silicon:
High Silicon Content: This is the origin of its name; the silicon content is as high as 1.5-2.5% (significantly higher than ≤1.0% in 309S).
The Role of Silicon:
Extremely Strong Carburization Resistance: In carbon-rich atmospheres such as carburizing furnaces (e.g., gas carburizing, carbonitriding), silicon effectively prevents carbon atoms from diffusing and penetrating into the steel, preventing the material from becoming brittle, peeling, and deteriorating in performance due to increased carbon content. This is its core advantage.
Improved High-Temperature Strength and Oxidation Resistance: Silicon further enhances the density and stability of the oxide film, improving the material's strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. Other characteristics: Typically designed with low carbon content (C ≤ 0.08%) to ensure weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion.
 
Key performance characteristics:
Superior resistance to high-temperature carburizing:
In strong carburizing atmospheres of 950°C - 1150°C, it performs far better than ordinary 309S and 310S. This is its irreplaceable core value.
Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance:
Inheriting the excellent properties of 309S, it can be used continuously below 1100°C with excellent oxidation resistance.
Good high-temperature strength and resistance to deformation:

Decent corrosion resistance:
