Product Description:

2507 is a super duplex stainless steel. It inherits all the advantages of 2205 duplex stainless steel (austenitic + ferritic duplex structure) and elevates its performance to a new level through higher alloy content.

Key Characteristics:

Higher alloy content, stronger corrosion resistance:

Chromium (Cr): Approx. 25% (higher than 22% in 2205)

Molybdenum (Mo): Approx. 4% (higher than 3% in 2205)

Nickel (Ni): Approx. 7% (higher than 5% in 2205)

Nitrogen (N): Approx. 0.3% (higher than 0.17% in 2205)

Result: Its corrosion resistance, especially its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, far surpasses that of 2205 and 316L. Its pitting resistance equivalent value is typically greater than 40, while 2205 is approximately 35-38 and 316L is approximately 25.

Higher Strength:

Its yield strength (≥550 MPa) is higher than 2205 (≥450 MPa) and more than three times that of ordinary 316 stainless steel. This gives it a significant advantage in high-pressure, heavy-duty applications.

Excellent Resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking:

It exhibits extremely strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking in high-temperature, high-pressure environments containing chlorides, making it an economical alternative to high-alloy austenitic stainless steels (such as 904L) and even some nickel-based alloys.

Good Wear and Corrosion Resistance:

High hardness and high strength enable it to resist erosion and wear from solid particles or high-speed fluids.

UNS S32750: The most common American grade; 2507 usually refers to this grade.

Chinese Grade: 022Cr25Ni7Mo4N or 00Cr25Ni7Mo4N.
