Product Description
Vegetable can tinplate coil is a thin gauge acid resistant electrolytic tin coated steel made for canned vegetables such as beans, peas, corn, mushrooms and tomatoes. Acidic fillings attack bare steel quickly, so a heavy tin coating is essential.
The 0.18 mm gauge keeps can weight and material cost low while still offering the stiffness and formability that automatic can making lines require.
Key Features- High Acid Resistance: A 8.4/8.4 g/m2 or higher coating withstands the organic acids in tomato and vegetable fills.
- Lightweight Gauge: 0.18 mm body reduces can weight and metal cost while keeping enough stiffness for standard lines.
- Clean Formability: T2 temper draws and flanges cleanly for round vegetable cans without localised thinning.
- Food Safe Surface: Chromate passivated and DOS oiled finish is approved for direct food contact.
- Even Coating: Uniform tin distribution protects the can wall and lid curl from acid pitting.
- Print Ready: Exterior finish takes full wrap labels and printed decoration with strong adhesion.

Vegetable can tinplate is used for canned beans, peas, sweetcorn, mushrooms, tomatoes and mixed vegetables in standard food cans.
It is also applied to fruit cans and other acidic food packs that require a strong tin coating and complete internal lacquer system.
