Product Description
Pet food can tinplate coil is a corrosion resistant electrolytic tin coated steel developed for wet pet food cans holding high protein and gravy formulations. These packs are aggressive towards packaging because of their salt, protein and meat content.
A higher tin coating with full passivation gives the sacrificial protection needed to withstand long term contact with pet food and to keep the metal pack leak free and safe.
Key Features- Enhanced Corrosion Resistance: A 8.4/8.4 g/m2 coating and chromate passivation resist the aggressive salts and proteins in wet pet food.
- Sulfur Stain Resistance: Available with sulfur resistant lacquer systems for poultry, beef and liver based recipes.
- Strong Seam Integrity: Consistent temper supports reliable double seaming for pressure retort processing.
- Food Grade Inner Surface: DOS oiled and passivated surface is safe for direct contact with edible pet food.
- Good Lacquer Adhesion: Clean bright surface holds interior and exterior lacquers through retorting without blistering.
- Reliable Formability: T3 temper provides the drawability to form round and shaped pet food cans without cracking.

Pet food tinplate is used for wet dog food, cat food, pate, chunks in gravy and other moist pet food recipes in single serve and multi portion cans.
It also suits canned meat and marine products that demand the same corrosion and sulfur resistance for long ambient shelf life.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceCoils are wrapped in moisture proof paper and anti rust film, banded with galvanised strapping and shipped on seaworthy pallets suitable for humid destinations.
Coating weight, adhesion and hardness are tested on line, and sulfur stain test reports plus mill certificates can be provided for retort sensitive applications.
