Product Description
Cooking oil can tinplate coil is a food grade electrolytic tin coated steel developed for the manufacture of edible oil tins, drums and pails. The tin coating protects the steel from the corrosive action of fatty acids while keeping the packed oil free from metallic taste and odour.
This 0.20 mm single reduced material is favoured by oil can producers because it offers excellent drawability for body forming and reliable seam welding, with a surface finish that accepts both clear and printed lacquer systems.

- Fatty Acid Resistance: A 5.6/5.6 g/m2 coating weight resists the organic acids in cooking oil and prevents iron pick up that spoils flavour.
- Superior Drawability: Low carbon MR SPCC steel with high elongation allows deep drawn body and lid forming without wrinkles or cracking.
- Reliable Seam Welding: Uniform tin distribution supports high speed electric seam welding of oil can bodies and top rings.
- Clean Surface: Dust free bright surface gives strong lacquer adhesion for decorative printwork on the finished tin.
- Consistent Thickness: Precision rolled thickness within 0.01 mm keeps tooling wear low and can weights consistent.

Cooking oil tinplate is used for packing vegetable oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, palm oil and blended edible oils in tins, pails and drums. It is also applied to margarine, shortening and grease containers where a sealed metal pack is required.
Food processors choose tinplate because the metal pack is light proof, airtight and recyclable, extending shelf life without refrigeration.
