NM300 - An Economical Entry-Level Choice
Features: It can be understood as a "reinforced version of ordinary structural steel." Its hardness is just above the threshold of wear-resistant steel plates, and its biggest advantage lies in its excellent overall machinability. Whether welding, bending, or cutting, it is very similar to ordinary steel plates, requiring minimal equipment and technical expertise.
Design Concept: Suitable for applications where wear is not severe but high performance requirements for component forming and machinability are necessary.
Typical Applications:
Flooring and side panels of light-duty dump trucks and tractor trailers.
Grain bins, plowshares, and harrow blades in agricultural machinery.
Liners for lightly worn conveyor chutes and hoppers.
Engineering machinery components requiring complex forming but not extremely high wear resistance.
NM360 - A Balanced Transitional Choice
Features: A balance is struck between the "easy machinability" of NM300 and the "high wear resistance" of NM400. Its wear resistance is significantly improved, enabling it to handle harsher working conditions, while still retaining a certain degree of machinability. In the market, its position is sometimes superseded by NM400 because the price difference is small, but NM400 offers significantly improved performance.
Design Concept: Suitable for parts with moderate wear intensity and certain machining requirements.
Typical Applications:
Buckets and cutting edges of medium-sized mining and earthmoving machinery.
Chain buckets and conveyor blades in the cement and coal industries.
Screening hoppers and liners in quarries.
Components requiring both wear resistance and formability.
NM400 - The King of General Wear Resistance (Mainstream in the Market)
Features: This is the most widely used and classic wear-resistant steel plate grade in the Chinese market. It achieves an optimal combination of hardness, strength, and a certain degree of toughness, offering excellent cost-effectiveness. Although its welding and cold-working performance is not as good as the previous two grades, this can be completely addressed through mature processes (such as preheating and using suitable welding materials). For most common wear conditions, NM400 is the preferred "safety" choice.
Design Concept: Suitable for most medium to heavy sliding and scraping wear conditions with non-extreme impact. Typical Applications (Extremely Wide Range):
Construction Machinery: Bucket liners, side edges, and floor plates for excavators and loaders (core application area).
Mining Transportation: Overall or partial reinforcement of heavy-duty mining dump truck bodies.
