Pressure Pipes ASTM A106 Grade B designed for high-temperature and high-pressure fluid transportation applications.

Manufacturing Process

Seamless: Seamless steel pipe is required to ensure integrity and safety under high temperature and pressure conditions.

Steel Grades
  • Grade B: The most commonly used and prevalent grade. Excellent mechanical properties (especially high-temperature performance) with moderate pricing. Yield strength ≥ 240 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 415 MPa.
  • Grade C: Highest strength and carbon content. Used for applications requiring higher strength, with relatively poorer weldability. Yield strength ≥ 275 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 485 MPa.
  • Grade A: Lowest strength, less commonly used. Typically for low-temperature or low-pressure applications where seamless pipe is required.
Material Specifications

Chemical Composition Control: Stricter control over elements including carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur compared to ASTM A53, with higher carbon and manganese content to ensure high-temperature strength.

Heat Treatment Requirements: Normalizing heat treatment is typically required, resulting in uniform material structure and refined grains. This significantly improves high-temperature creep strength and long-term service stability - key to A106's suitability for high-temperature environments.

High-Temperature Performance: The ASTM A106 standard includes minimum yield strength tables at high temperatures. A106 Gr.B maintains sufficient strength even at temperatures up to 400°C (approximately 750°F), a fundamental difference from ordinary fluid pipes like A53.
