Product Description
1. Ordinary Carbon Structural Steel
This type of steel has moderate strength, good processability, and is economical, suitable for applications with less stringent requirements.
Grade: 20# (20 steel)
Standards: GB/T 8162, GB/T 8163, GB/T 3087
Characteristics: Approximately 0.2% carbon content; good overall performance in terms of strength, plasticity, and weldability.
Main Applications:
GB/T 8162: Mechanical equipment parts, building structural frames, vehicle chassis components, etc.
GB/T 8163: Low-pressure fluid transportation pipelines (water, gas, oil).
GB/T 3087: Boiler flue tubes, low-temperature superheater tubes, etc.
Grade: Q235 (Grades A/B/C/D)
Standards: Mainly based on GB/T 8162
Characteristics: Yield strength 235MPa; the most widely used carbon structural steel.
Main Uses: Primarily used for structural components, such as building steel frames, bridge supports, stationary structural parts of engineering machinery, guardrails, etc. Generally not used for fluid pressure pipelines.
2. High-Quality Carbon Structural Steel: Based on ordinary carbon steel, it has stricter control over impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus, resulting in superior mechanical properties.
Grade: 45# (45 steel)
Standard: GB/T 8162
Characteristics: Contains approximately 0.45% carbon, belonging to medium carbon steel. After heat treatment (quenching and tempering), it can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties (high strength and high toughness).
Main Uses: A core material in machinery manufacturing, used to manufacture parts that bear large loads, such as shafts, gears, connecting rods, piston rods, hydraulic cylinders, etc. Not used for pipeline transportation.
3. Special Steel for Boilers and Pressure Vessels: Requires high safety standards and must ensure long-term stable operation under high temperature and pressure.
Grade: 20G (G stands for "Boiler")
Standards: GB/T 3087 (Low and Medium Pressure), GB/T 5310 (High Pressure)
Features: Optimized from 20 steel, with stricter requirements for chemical composition, grain size, and mechanical properties to ensure excellent heat resistance and long-term strength.
Main Applications: Specifically used for superheater tubes, reheater tubes, water-cooled wall tubes, economizer tubes, and steam pipes in boiler equipment. A key material in the power and heating industries.
