The core value of 300 series (e.g., 304, 316L) hot-rolled No.1 lies in its economic efficiency as a high-value-added intermediate billet and its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature resistance, making it ideal for direct application in structural components.
Primary Applications
- As a billet for subsequent cold-rolled finishing: This is its largest application and offers the highest cost-effectiveness. Hot-rolled No.1 coils are the source material for producing all cold-rolled products (such as 2B, BA, 8K mirror finish, and various brushed surfaces).
- Industrial pickled sheet (HRAP) raw material: Directly pickling the surface of No.1 yields a clean, uniform, silvery-white hot-rolled pickled sheet, suitable for direct applications where surface finish requirements are not high.
- Direct use in structural components: This fully utilizes the corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and high strength of 300 series stainless steel while accepting its rough appearance to reduce costs.
