Productbeschrijving
ASTM A53 is de standaard specificatie van de American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) voor "Zwarte en thermisch verzinkte, gelaste en naadloze stalen buizen." Deze specificatie omvat stalen buizen vervaardigd met zowel gelaste (Type F, Type E) als naadloze (Type S) processen, waarbij onze focus ligt op het naadloze stalen buisgedeelte.
Dit geeft expliciet aan dat de stalen buis wordt vervaardigd met een naadloos proces, zonder lassen.
- Kwaliteit B: Meest gebruikte en voorkomende kwaliteit. Vloeigrens: 240 MPa (35 ksi), Treksterkte: 415 MPa (60 ksi)
- Kwaliteit A: Lagere sterkte, minder frequent gebruikt. Vloeigrens: 205 MPa (30 ksi), Treksterkte: 330 MPa (48 ksi)
- Kwaliteit A25: Zeer speciaal, zelden gebruikt in naadloze stalen buizen, voornamelijk gespecificeerd voor schroefdraadbussen
ASTM A53 heeft relatief brede vereisten voor chemische samenstelling en is een type koolstofstaal. De belangrijkste elementaire inhoud (koolstof, mangaan, fosfor en zwavel) voldoet aan algemene technische vereisten, maar is niet zo streng als sommige gespecialiseerde drukvaten of ketelstaalsoorten.
Verkrijgbaar als onbehandelde zwarte buis of thermisch verzinkt voor corrosiebescherming. Verzinkte producten worden doorgaans gemarkeerd als "Verzinkt (Galv.)".
ASTM A53 Gr.B naadloze buizen dienen als "algemene buis" in veel industrieën vanwege hun uitstekende mechanische eigenschappen, bewerkbaarheid en kosteneffectiviteit.
