De Europese norm EN 10219 regelt de eisen voor koudgevormd gelaste structuurbuizen van niet-gelegeerd staal en fijnstaal zonder warmtebehandeling.,de leveringsvoorwaarden en de toelaatbare afwijkingen van de afmetings- en vormtoleranties, alsook de eisen inzake mechanische eigenschappen.
De norm is van toepassing op gelaste buizen die worden gebruikt voor de bouw van staalconstructies en voor algemene civiele bouwdoeleinden, met inbegrip van leidingen voor het vervoer van vloeistoffen en andere media.Deze norm is ook van toepassing op gelaste buizen die worden gebruikt bij de bouw van pijpleidingen voor het vervoer van vloeistoffen zoals olie, gas en water, evenals procesleidingen, elektriciteitsleidingen en leidingen.
Deel 1 bevat de technische leveringsvoorwaarden van EN 10219-structurele buizen en deel 2 specificeert de tolerantie, afmetingen en sectie-eigenschappen van deze buizen.
