Premium Electrolytic Tin Plate Sheets & Coils for Food Cans, Aerosol Containers, and Paint Packaging
Tinplate(ETP) consists of sheets of steel coated electrolytically with a thin layer of tin. It in itself has strength of steel and the non-corrosive, lustrous, weldable properties of tin.
ETP may be Single Reduced (SR) or Double Reduced (DR) type and is available both in sheet and /or coil form.
It certainly is the preferred choice for packaging materials.
Depending on user requirement tinplate of various types with:
different formabilities (“tempers”)
steel thicknesses (from 0.13 mm to 0.65 mm)
finishes like bright, stone, silver matte, silver bright, matte is available
Tinplate(SPTE) is a common name for electroplated tin steel sheets, which refers to cold-rolled low-carbon steel sheets or strips coated with commercial pure tin on both sides. Tin mainly acts to prevent corrosion and rust. It combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, solderability and aesthetic appearance of tin in a material with corrosion resistance, non-toxicity, high strength and good ductility.Tin-plate packaging has a wide range of coverage in the packaging industry because of its good sealing, preservation, light-proof, ruggedness and unique metal decoration charm. Because of its strong antioxidant, diverse styles and exquisite printing, tinplate packaging container is popular with customers, and widely used in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, commodity packaging, instrument packaging, industrial packaging and so on.

1. What is tinplate? What is it mainly used for?
Tinplate is cold-rolled low-carbon steel sheet coated with a thin layer of tin on both surfaces. It combines the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance and solderability of tin.
Main applications:
Food packaging: Canned food, beverage cans, milk powder cans, cooking oil cans
Industrial packaging: Aerosol cans, paint cans, chemical containers
Consumer goods: Gift boxes, tea cans, battery shells, metal signs
2.Does tinplate rust? How do you prevent corrosion?
Tinplate is corrosion-resistant, but under extreme conditions (prolonged exposure to moisture, acids, or salt spray), rust may occur.
Our anti-rust measures:
DOS oil coating: Food-grade oil applied to the surface
Passivation treatment: Chromate passivation for enhanced corrosion resistance
Professional packaging: Moisture-proof paper and plastic film wrapping suitable for long ocean shipments
For applications requiring superior corrosion resistance, we also offer tin-free steel (TFS) .
3.Do you support custom sizes and printing?
Yes to both.
Custom cutting: We slit and shear coils to your exact sheet dimensions. Tolerances within ±0.1mm.
Custom printing: While we specialize in tinplate substrate, we work with trusted partner printing facilities. If you require pre-printed sheets (coating, printing, varnishing), we can arrange one-stop purchasing.
4.What packaging do you use for export?
We use standard export-ready packaging:
Inner: Moisture-proof kraft paper + anti-rust film
Outer: Galvanized steel strapping + wooden pallets or seaworthy wooden crates
Suitable for container loading and long-distance ocean freight
