Tinplate (SPTE) is the common name for electroplated tin steel sheets, referring to cold-rolled low-carbon steel sheets or strips coated with commercial pure tin on both sides. The tin coating primarily acts to prevent corrosion and rust. This material combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, solderability, and aesthetic appearance of tin, resulting in a product with excellent corrosion resistance, non-toxicity, high strength, and good ductility.
Tinplate packaging has a wide range of coverage in the packaging industry due to its good sealing properties, preservation capabilities, light-proof nature, ruggedness, and unique metal decoration appeal. Its strong oxidation resistance, diverse styles, and exquisite printing make tinplate packaging containers popular with customers, widely used in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, commodity packaging, instrument packaging, and industrial packaging.
